WordPal offers complete definitions for 3500 words and is simplistic and easy to use. It offers a series of multiple choice quizzes and other learning tools like flash cards. It also includes simplified pronunciations.

The word list seems most suitable for junior high students, ESL students or remedial adult learners. WordPal includes groups of words like architecture, music, zoology and types of numbers. These word sections include words like armory, soprano, bovine and infinity. We would consider the words pretty basic and most high school students have most likely have had some kind of exposure to these words by the time they reach the 10th grade or so.
