Vocabulary Super Stretch in the most advanced vocabulary software offered by Merit Software. It is intended for high school, ESL and adult students. It includes words like onerous, plaudit, blatant and garner.

Teaching Tools:  

This program starts off by displaying the word lists with their definitions and a sample phrase with the word in use. This program offers exercises like word matches, beyond definition questions, “meaning” exercises, crossword puzzles and more. After a section is completed with mostly correct answers, the program displays an animated reward and the student progresses to the next word list.

This program does a pretty good job at going beyond simple definition memorization to actual word usage; it leads students into exploring the overall intention of a sentence or paragraph to decipher meaning of a word.

Subjects Covered:  

This series includes 216 vocabulary words and relates vocabulary by short definitions, sentence samples and synonym associations.

Instruction Quality:  

We did not notice any obvious spelling, grammar or word usage errors while using this program.
